A viral outbreak that began in China has infected more than 82,000 people worldwide. The World Health Organization named the disease COVID-19, in reference to its appearance last year and the coronavirus that causes it.

Below, we present the most recent figures reported by the health authorities of each country until Wednesday in Beijing:

—China Continental: 2,744 dead among 78,497 cases, mostly in the central province of Hubei

—Hong Kong: 92 cases, 2 dead

—Macao: 10 cases

—Corea del Sur: 1,766 cases, 13 dead

—Japan: 918 cases, including 705 on a cruise ship in Yokohama; 8 dead

—Italy: 447 cases, 12 dead

—Iran: 254 cases, 26 dead

—Singapore: 96

—United States: 60

—Kuwait: 43

—Thailand: 40

—Bahréin: 33

—Taiwan: 32 cases, 1 dead

—Australia: 23

—Malaysia: 23

—Germany: 21

—France: 17 cases, 2 dead
