Air conditioning referendum gets cool reception in Bradley

BRADLEY — Bradley Elementary School District 61 officials are sweating after a $10 million referendum to add air conditioning to three schools failed to pass.

About 65.9 percent of 1,505 people voted against the $10 million referendum in Tuesday’s election.

The referendum called for adding air units to Bradley East and West elementary schools, as well as central air conditioning to Bradley Central Middle School. It also would have paid for window replacements and electrical upgrades at all three schools.
