Wilmington teen arrested for animal cruelty

COAL CITY — A Wilmington teenager was arrested late last week for animal cruelty by Coal City police.

Kaleb Findlay, 19, turned himself into Coal City police on Feb. 7. Police had been pursuing Findlay since late January after a video surfaced which showed someone kicking and choking by foot a small dog at a Coal City residence. The video also shows the dog being picked up by the neck and thrown into a pet carrier. It was recorded in early 2018 by a former girlfriend of Findlay, and he is believed to be the aggressor shown in the film.

The woman chose to share the video on social media after she broke up with Findlay. Police say the dog was not injured and is healthy today.
