MOMENCE — A Missouri developer has withdrawn its plan for a low-income, senior development in northeast Momence.

The decision followed the planning board’s rejection of the developer’s proposal last week.

Late last month, Springfield, Mo.-based Four Corners Development held a meeting to answer questions from the public about its proposed development in the neighborhood next to Berkot’s Super Foods. It would have consisted of 23 duplexes and a community building.

Most of the 75 people attending the meeting expressed opposition to the project. Neighbors said they feared ...
