Free dinner program expanded

KANKAKEE — The Kankakee School District has extended its free dinner program for district students to another school. The program now is offered from 2:45 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at Kankakee High School.

The meal consists of an entree, one-half cup of fruit, one-half cup of vegetable and a milk. All components of the meal must be taken. There is a charge of $4 per adult meal.

Since the fall, the program has been offered at Kankakee Junior High School at the same times.

Free breakfast and lunch already are given at the schools. Such programs are made possible through federal money ...
