The Salvation Army of Kankakee has set a goal of $ 265,000 this year as it holds its annual Red Kettle Drive. The recent appearance of six $ 100 bills makes the goal closer.

Three times this December, an anonymous donor or donors has slipped six new $ 100 bills into a Kankakee Salvation Army teapot.

Invoices were left in the kettle at Kankakee Walmart on December 10. Similar donations were dropped on December 6 and December 4, both at Walgreens in Kankakee.

There is no way to know definitively if the $ 1,800 in $ 100 bills came from the same donor, but in each case, the bills were new and placed together, rolled gently, but did not fold. A $ 100 bill has a picture of Ben Franklin.
