The Monday after Thanksgiving roared in like March instead of late November.

Mother Nature gave the Kankakee River Valley a dash of snow this morning that was preceded by a round of heavy rain.

Kankakee received .62 of precipitation on Sunday, most of that coming after 8 p.m., according to Weather Underground. 

It was the winds of November that provided the punch in the gut.

Those northerly winds started howling by mid-afternoon on Sunday and kept up into sunrise today.
