DETROIT — A Kankakee woman told a Detroit-area man who sold her father’s head for medical training to “Burn in hell.”

Arthur Rathburn was sentenced to nine years in prison for fraud and shipping hazardous material as some of the cadavers and body parts were infected with hepatitis or HIV.

Tracy Smolka, of Kankakee, was allowed to speak in court as a victim. Her father died in 2010 of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, and his body was supposed to be used for research before cremation.
