BOURBONNAIS — Believe it or not, Bradley-Bourbonnais pitcher Evey Evans didn’t have her best “stuff” Monday evening.

The sophomore tossed a five-hit shutout against Kankakee in a 3-0 win at home. She struck out seven hitters and threw 77 of 114 pitches for strikes.

But she was the first to admit to her coaches she thought she could have pitched better.

“She was a little off, and she was the one who came to us right off the bat to say, ‘I don’t think I had my best stuff today. I was a little off,’” Boilers coach Haylee Beck said. “She really worked through some long at-bats ...
